Got Mondayitis? Here’s some inspiration to kick a** & get working

by 31 Jan, 2017

Why do so many people dread Monday and the start of another (working) week? Is it because:

  • You are not doing what you love or not so passionate about
  • You have no planning or structure to your Sunday evening
  • You don’t sleep well the night before (which might tie in with the first couple of points) or
  • Possibly the wrong mental attitude

No matter what it is that makes your Monday a ‘blah’ rather than a ‘yay’ day, there are some things you can do to improve things:

The night before:

  • Do something you enjoy on a Sunday night & takes your mind off the next day
  • Try to prepare yourself for Monday on Friday
  • Start the day with something you love – exercise, writing, meditating

On Monday:

  • First work tasks should be something that sets the tone for the day – positive, energising – something you are looking forward to doing
  • Work with a smile and remember what good you are doing for your business & clients
  • Try to catch yourself when you fall into a negative mindset and walk away from your desk for a few minutes while using affirming statements such as ‘I am great’ or ‘I rock this day!’

Mondays don’t have to a pain. Make them rock your week and set an example for how great your days are by doing some prep work before and/or on the weekend. You got this!
