Your Business Admin Tidy Up Series – Recap & Future Planning
We’ve come to the end of my post series on how to get your basic business admin in check. Now is the time to reflect and also a plan for the future.
Firstly, let’s look back on what we’ve covered: you got an overview of your current business admin state and planned out what to tackle first. Next, we’ve looked at your current mindset, followed by sorting out your emails as well as re-organised the way you use your calendar and last but not least we worked through your business apps & tools.
Wow. That is a lot and amazing – well done if you put your head down and worked on this!
To close off, I like to see how you are feeling, how is your mindset now? Again, here are a couple of questions I like to throw out there:
- What worked well and what didn’t?
- How do you feel now, after working through all or some of the areas I covered?
Answering these questions provides you an insight into what has changed since you started this journey. If you feel a sense of achievement and relief then, I am super chuffed as that is exactly what I hoped for.
But wait, let’s keep it going!
Let’s not end it here! It’s time to forward plan just a little bit.
Brainstorm on this: What could you regularly implement in your routine to ensure to keep on top of your basic admin? For example, every Friday afternoon for 30 minutes clean out emails, look over filing, etc.
A small commitment each week will become a habit and hence something that is no longer a ‘sucker of my time’ or ‘out of control’, but part of who you are in business.
And one more thing before I end finish this series: Make it fun. Realise and acknowledge what you have achieved and pat yourself on the back…and have a dance…or treat yourself to a coffee out.
